Alison Glass Mini Quilt Swap part 2

My mini quilt is now with my secret partner.  [click here to see it in progress]

That’s the cool thing about these swaps.  Usually, you don’t know who is making one for you.  So when the swappers are sharing in progress and completed photos, the excitement just builds.

And, here’s the wonderful miniquilt and lovely extras that I received from my swap partner.  Instagram handle is @cantoneverettdelaware3rd   My partner used one of the flowers in one of the Alison Glass prints to create a paper pieced design  by enlarging it and sharpening the points.  Very modern traditional, don’t you think!  the quilt is all hand quilted with Perle thread–yummy colors.  I love the vibrant energy in this quilt. It’s a true work of art.  The black fabric really lets the Alison Glass fabrics glow.

Back of quilt shows off the quilting, doesn’t it?  I wish I could display both sides.

A handwritten note came along with it…

And the lovely extras–fabric, candy, washi tape [I’ll use this in my sketch book and journals for sure] AND a handmade zippered pouch.  I’ll be using it to carry my sewing machine feet and tools to my Guild Sewing Days.  The zipper pull has my first initial:

My partner took the time to put a piece of the fabric in a small hoop–I’ll hang it on the wall next to the mini quilt.  The hoop is shown on top of one of the pieces of fabric that was also included in my extras.  So generous and thoughtful!
