Faced bindings are great for modern quilts.
Here is a simple tutorial for how I make a faced binding for my modern quilts.

Hanging Sleeves: I didn’t mention this in the video, but I attach my hanging sleeve to the back of the quilt by sewing the top of the sleeve about 3/8 inch from the top edge. I sew through the facing and backing and just slightly into the batting, being careful not to let my stitches show on front. It’s important to sew into the batting on a larger quilt so that the weight of the quilt will not pull the quilt apart.
Carole,
Thank you for wonderful clear instructions!

Thanks Carole – I love this faced binding. Many times the binding or even the borders move your eye from the field of the quilt to the outer edges – which can be distracting. Great instructions.

Thanks so much Carole. You make it so clear and concise! Another Modern Mini complete. Lenore.
This is a great tutorial on facing a quilt, I never quite got it before now I just have to try it. Thank you so much.
I am glad that it was useful to you. Facing is the easiest finishing technique and it’s perfect for so many modern quilts.
Thanks for the tutorial, Carole! Awesome stuff and easy to understand. Very appreciative!
Thank you, Carole! This is so clear…I think I can do this!!
