If I could sew with anyone, my choice would be to teach my sisters and nieces and nephews and great nieces to make quilts or wallhangings. I’d love to pass along my love of the cloth to them. Maybe one day!
And, of course we would play with African textiles in a thoroughly modern way.
It would be nice if the quilting tradition was kept in the family. My family tend to feel – “quilting is her thing” so they stay away. Maybe when I am gone they will pick it up.
I know what you mean. No one in my family is interested –although they love my quilts. If they preserve them, that will be good enough for me.
