Adventures in Portrait Quilts

I now conduct live online lectures for quilt guilds, shops and groups! My lectures are conducted live over Zoom.  If your guild or group is interested in scheduling me for a lecture, please email me [email protected]

This lecture and trunk show covers my journey in making portrait quilts in three different styles.  I discuss the inspiration for each series; some of the tools I use, how I assemble the quilts and quilting approaches.   There will be lots of time for questions and answers. In addition to the lecture (slides), I also show some of my quilts ‘in person’ on my design wall and table

Topics include:

  • How & Why I started making portrait quilts
  • The Collaboration Quilt: Using a Batik Portrait
  • Silhouette Quilts: Creating figures; assembly techniques including upcycling
  • Phototransfer Quilts: Women in the Military series; Family Series
  • Q&A
