Parisian Curves MultiLayer Workshop
Back by Popular Demand!!
Live Zoom Session: October 30, 2021
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern
Parisian Curves is a pattern from my first book, Madly Modern Quilts. This has been a very popular workshop and I’ve decided to offer a live workshop this fall.
This is a quilt created using only a few block sizes that will fit together easily. The multilayered freehand cut curves make the quilt look very improvisational. This one –day workshop combines two techniques for creating unique improvisational quilts. First, I will demonstrate how to cut and sew freehand multi-layered curve blocks. Secondly, we will combine these pieced blocks with blocks cut from the background fabric for a planned layout that looks completely improvised. We will also discuss using the background fabric in the blocks to create a floating effect with lots more negative space. See the last page of this handout for more sample quilts.
You can create a quilt that looks random and improvisational quickly and easily! Using this approach, you will find there are many variations in your layout and fabric color choices.
Participants will have loads of fun and develop confidence freehand cutting and piecing gentle curves, combining prints and solid fabrics and incorporating negative space.
Students will have access to recorded video tutorials until December 1, 2021.
