My goal in these workshops is to support you in exploring and expanding your unique creative voice. We will not be making ‘patterns’ or replicating my quilts. Instead, I will encourage you, challenge you and support you to develop YOUR quilts in your style. The workshops are designed for confident beginners eager to learn and there will be lots of challenge for more experienced quilters.
PLEASE NOTE: Since access is granted to course materials immediately upon registration, I cannot grant any refunds or transfers once registration payment is made.

I love working in a series–meaning, I take an idea or theme and make related works over time. I love exploring ideas by creating a series of related works over time. In this workshop, I will work with a cohort of 12 individuals over several weeks to explore what it means to develop and work in a series. The cohort members will be partners in this journey. The goal is to support each other in exploration, experimentation, discovery and building confidence in forging an individual path.

There are many, many ways to find a source of inspiration for visual art of any type. In this workshop, we will explore ways to use a poem to find design ideas and a color palette that could result in one or a series of works. You will work from a poem of your own choosing so each of us will be creating a uniquely expressive textile artwork. Maximum enrollment: 15 individuals
Here are answers to questions that you might have about this workshop:
- Where do I find possible poems? I will share sources in advance of our first session.
- Can I use a poem that I wrote or an unpublished poem by a friend? Of course!!
- What if there are no ‘colors’ mentioned in the poem? During Session 1, I will show you how to find colors in the language.
- Will we have to use a particular technique to make our projects? No, you are free to use any technique that fits your design–including modern traditional, fusing, improv piecing, curved piecing, etc.
