My Dream Quilt Project

Today’s Blog Writing challenge prompt is “my Dream Project”.

Well this is going to shock you….for a long time, my dream project was to make a Baltimore Album Quilt. Yep…traditional as they come!!  I am from Baltimore and I have seen these remarkable quilts up close and personal at the Maryland Historical Society.  View the Society digital collection here.

In my early days as I quilter, I watched as Members of the African American Quilters of Baltimore made these types of quilts using masterful heirloom sewing techniques and I really admired their craftsmanship. I learned needle turn applique and actually got quite good at it.

And that’s where this post ends.  I never made one.  I probably never will. I’m not sad–I’m more amused than anything that the first thought that came up for this prompt was so traditional.

My latest thought is that I am always making my Dream Project–
I’m free to make whatever I Dream.

So what’s your DREAM PROJECT?

Comment below and share your dreams.

Feeling Grateful to be a Dreamer,

Carole
