Quilting Skills I Wish I Had

Today’s Blog Writing Challenge prompt is ” Skills I Wish I Had”.

I would love to be able to create color transparency.  I’ve taken a couple of workshops and I’ve tried it but this technique does not come easily to me.  I think it’s why I love ombre fabrics so much–they create transparency effects for me.

Here is my  attempt that I created in a workshop with Christine R. for the Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild. I was so proud to get this far!  I never completed the project–it went into the scrap bin.  What I did discover was an interesting variation on a curved block that I explored much later.

Want to learn more about transparency?

Here’s a link to  classes by Carolina Oneto–a wonderful modern quilter who teaches this technique.

Peace,

Carole
